About Theta Tau
The Phi Epsilon Chapter of Theta Tau at California State University, Fullerton
Our History
Building engineers who are prepared to lead and serve
In the summer of 2017, Eric Hoang had the idea to develop a second home for the engineers on our campus. Hoang embarked on this journey with two other founding members, Alvin Tran and Justin Albano, to start a professional co-ed engineering fraternity at California State University, Fullerton. Once the fall semester started, Hoang, Tran, and Albano set up an interest meeting to find other students with the same goal. When a small group was established, his next step was to register the official club at Cal State Fullerton as Upsilon Theta Tau.
They participated and hosted events related to improving the lifestyle of on-campus engineering and the three core values of Theta Tau. During the six-month waiting period, Hoang recruited a team of engineering and computer science students to join the new organization. Upsilon Theta Tau was officially installed as a colony on April 28th, 2018. Two years and three pledge classes later, CSUF Theta Tau was established as the Phi Epsilon Chapter on February 22, 2020.
